NEVADA (1944)

Perfectly acceptable (heck, fun) Zane Grey Western programmer from (routinier Edward Killy) does quite nicely within the built-in limitations of budget, cast & genre. Bad guys are buying up dud gold mining claims ‘cause they know the Comstock Lode holds silver; tons of it. A very young Robert Mitchum (in his first lead?) and his two sidekick/comic pals fall right in the middle of all the killin’, lynchin’, romancin’, ridin’ & . . . well, muck. But after some reasonably clever switcheroo plottin’, the bad guys are caught, the impure gal has nobly sacrificed herself for love, and the pure girl can happily bat her eyes at long, tall, sexy Bob. Yippie-yi-i-ya!
