Crude, rude, lewd and LOL funny, this go-for-broke comedy from writer/megger Robert Zemeckis & writer/producer Bob Gale really holds up. Jack Warden plays brothers with rival car dealerships and Kurt Russell, in tremendous form, is the hustling salesman for the ‘loser’ brother. When one of the Wardens dies and his estranged daughter shows up (Deborah Harmon, the only flavorless thing in the pic), the stage is set for a battle royale to see who’ll survive. It’s true that Zemeckis sinks to an occasional camel reaction shot, that his technique isn’t quite up to the slapstick absurdities and that the film could lose a reel or two, but the basic situations are so deeply silly and the cast so wonderful (Gerrit Graham where have you gone?), that you forgive a lot of ineptitude for the goofy pleasures.
