KEILLERS PARK (2006)

Swedish megger Susanna Edwards begs us to grade her on effort in this mediocre character piece which poses unconvincingly as a daring, gay-themed murder mystery. Unable to keep his sexual orientation buried, the scion of a prosperous family business loses his inheritance, wife, friends & station in society when he falls for a wild-and-crazy kooky gay free spirit. These two are supremely ill-matched, but Edwards is too busy with trendy political nuance & trendy academic filmmaking techniques to notice. One drunken night, after the lust has gone out of the match, one turns up dead and the other is indited for murder. You have to hope that the Swedish cops aren’t quite as dense as seen here and that Martin Klingberg & Pjotr Giro, who do what they can as the gay couple, get better roles soon.
