One of those TCM movie star bios, but considerably better than the norm (including a previous one on Greta Garbo from back when TNT was a classic movie channel) since it’s co-directed by that great Brit scholar/archivist/afficionado of all things Hollywood, Kevin Brownlow & scored by Carl Davis. It glosses over some titles that don’t fit in with their narrative (Garbo’s second US pic, THE TEMPTRESS, is superb moviemaking: https://maksquibs.blogspot.com/2008/06/temptress-1926.html), but it’s no hagiography, and uses intelligent, gush-free commentators. Now, when is Brownlow’s magnum opus, HOLLYWOOD, going to be restored/revamped for DVD?
