This ‘concert’ film features comics Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, Ron White & Larry the Cable Guy at the height of their current sizeable popularity, bringing their relentlessly modest gifts to an audience of true believers. Larry the Cable Guy is barely half a tick off the old HEE-HAW highway of corn-pone stupidity (with X-rated trimmings), but the other three at least know their whorish trade as they smugly deliver some mighty stale sets. The pervading tone has the same mean-spirited, misogynist edge currently favored in comedy clubs, along with a soupcon of Southern Fried Ray Romano. (Sit-com envy rules!) Still, watching the audience whoop away & lap this up is no more depressing than sitting thru an unearned standing ‘O’ at an over-hyped B’way play.
