FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE (1966)

Sergio Leone ’s sophomore "spaghetti Western" takes its time to find its particular rhythm, but once bounty hunters Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef hook up (almost an hour into the pic), the perverse charms of this sub-genre kick in with a nicely twisted bank robbery as the focus, and literal backstabbing to liven up what passes for honor in Leone’s make-believe old West. Often called a sequel to FISTFUL OF DOLLARS, it’s a kissin’ cousin at best as the main heavy (Gian Maria Volonte) gets bumped off in both.
